Infini for Hyperhidrosis
Hyperhidrosis is typically managed with prescription topical medications, but they may not be very effective in the long run. Botox injections are also used to treat this condition, but repeat treatments may be required every six to nine months. Procedure
The Infini hyperhidrosis treatment begins with an application of the “Starch Iodine” test to the axilla in order to mark the specific areas of excessive sweating. Thereafter, the provider will apply a topical numbing cream for about 20 to 30 minutes. The provider will then expose the affected area to Infini. The RF energy delivered through the device will cause heating and coagulation at the ends of its insulated needles.
An expert will be able to perform the treatment at the right level in order to destroy the sweat glands in the targeted area. Multiple passes will be performed at varying levels in order to achieve more comprehensive outcomes. To treat both underarms, the provider will take about 15 minutes in all with Infini. No downtime is involved in this procedure. Results will start appearing in about one week, and will be permanent because the destroyed glands do not have the ability to regenerate.
In about one month, the provider will perform a repeat procedure to ensure any remaining sweat glands are also repeated. The patient will not need any pain meds during or after the procedure.
