See Neck Lipo Before And After Photos

Neck liposuction is a cosmetic surgery procedure to enhance neck contours and make it smoother and more slender.

This procedure can ensure that the neck matches the rest of the face and body. While this surgery is usually carried out along with a facelift, it can be performed by itself as well.

During the pre-operative consultation, the surgeon will explain various aspects of the neck liposuction to the patient. They will show the patient before and after surgery pictures of previous neck lipo patients.

Modern Body Contouring & Laser Center, led by judicious board certified plastic surgeons Dr. Burton M. Sundin and Reps B. Sundin, provides neck liposuction to patients in Northern Virginia, Washington DC, Vienna, McLean, Loudoun, Ashburn, Tysons Corner, Reston, Arlington, Chevy Chase, Richmond, Fredericksburg, and surrounding locations in this area of the country.

What are Neck Liposuction Surgery Before and After Images?

Before and after neck lipo pictures refers to a pair or group of images belonging to a previous neck liposuction plastic surgery patient who received a successful procedure from the surgeon. The images include pictures taken before the surgery and after the procedure when the inflammation and bruising have subsided, and the complete effects of the procedure are apparent.

The surgeon will take the patient’s approval before taking their photos and will use these discreetly. The surgeon’s primary goal is to highlight the cosmetic aspects of neck lipo realistically to prospective patients and explain the various facets of the procedure.

These images are an excellent visual aid to inform new patients about what can realistically be achieved with neck liposuction.

What really should be mentioned here is digital technology. With this type of technology images can be seen more clearly and they can be seen on the devices many people already own. The saying that someone can have the cake and eat it too does not apply here. Not only can someone see these tremendous pictures with their own smart phone or laptop they can see these pictures anywhere they have access to the Net.

And we know that is about anywhere! The Internet is almost ubiquitous nowadays.

    Benefits

New patients who are considering neck liposuction may not have a complete understanding of how this procedure can enhance their appearance or meet their particular cosmetic goals. Some patients may only require a minor fat removal in the neck and chin area.

A non-invasive procedure may be able to achieve this goal. However, other patients may require a complete neck liposuction surgery. They may even require a combination of neck liposuction and a neck lift or facelift.

In these types of cases, it can be challenging for a new patient to make the correct choices. At this point, the plastic surgeon will use neck liposuction before and after images to help the patient arrive at the right decision.

    Developing Realistic Expectations

If the patient has clear cosmetic goals, a positive mindset, and realistic expectations, there is a high possibility of them achieving maximum levels of satisfaction from the neck liposuction procedure.

An expert surgeon will employ neck lipo before and after pictures to help the patient develop realistic expectations from the cosmetic procedure. This reduces the risk of disappointment in the future and enables the patient to make an informed choice right from the onset.

    Online Photos

Some plastic surgeons also display neck liposuction before and after pictures on their practice website which is the case here with Dr. Sundin. This allows anyone considering neck liposuction to view before and after surgery pictures. People considering neck lipo can get more information about the procedure by viewing these online photos even before consulting the plastic surgeon.

Transparency is the key and Dr. Sundin has not any qualms about that. He is proud of his work and he should be. There is lots of satisfied clients based off of his work. A patient armed with this information can make a key decision impacting their life without informing anyone. It is a brave new world.

Neck contouring cosmetic surgery provides the neck and chin with a tauter and smoother appearance. Improvements to a wrinkled, sagging, or thick neck can change the appearance of a person dramatically even if no changes are made to the face.

Neck lift and neck liposuction procedures can help the patient look significantly younger and as if they have lost weight. Furthermore, neck contouring can recreate balanced facial features by producing a sharper jawline that frames the facial structure.

Modern Body Contouring & Laser Center, led by board certified plastic surgeons Dr. Burton M. Sundin and Reps B. Sundin, provides neck lift and neck liposuction to patients in Northern Virginia, Washington DC, Vienna, McLean, Loudoun, Ashburn, Tysons Corner, Reston, Arlington, Chevy Chase, Richmond, Fredericksburg, and surrounding communities.

    Neck Liposuction

Sometimes even if a person has a healthy body weight, they may have a “double chin.” In such cases, neck liposuction can help the patient permanently accomplish a more contoured and graceful neckline. Liposuction eliminates excess fatty deposits.

However, it does not cause major improvements in sagging skin. A typical neck liposuction patient will be in their 20’s through early 50’s. The reason for this is that younger patients have more elastic skin.

The neck liposuction plastic surgery procedure does not take much time to perform, and surgeons commonly perform it under local anesthesia and mild sedation.

The surgeon will first place one or two small incisions discreetly underneath the chin or behind the ears. Subsequently, they will insert a narrow liposuction cannula and manipulate it to break down the fatty deposits.

The plastic surgeon will suction out the excess fat and sculpt the neck and chin to provide a natural contour. After the surgery, the patient usually wears a special chin support strap for around three to four days. They can resume work within a week, and full activity can be undertaken in approximately two weeks.

Patients usually experience some inflammation and bruising in the initial ten to 14 days following neck liposuction.

    Neck Liposuction Aesthetic Benefits

    • Mitigates the “double chin” or fullness beneath the chin
    • Contours the jawline for more balanced facial features and an enhanced chin
    • Patients with good skin tone typically experience the best outcomes
    • Can enhance facial contours further when combined with chin augmentation or nose reshaping surgery
    • Permanent outcomes are possible if the patient stays at a steady weight

    Neck Lift Surgery

For patients with loose, sagging neck skin, the neck lift surgery is an effective solution. Neck lift surgery is also called cervicoplasty (to eliminate excess skin) or platysmaplasty (to tighten sagging neck muscles). Plastic surgeons will undertake either or both procedures to tighten loose muscles in the neck and eliminate sagging skin. This procedure can restore a firmer, smoother and more contoured look to the neck.

The neck lift surgery is usually undertaken on an outpatient basis under general anesthesia or IV sedation. The plastic surgeon will place a tiny incision behind each ear and, if necessary, a third incision beneath the chin. They will use these incisions to firm the neck muscles and/or underlying tissues and eliminate excess loose skin.

A well-prepared patient will typically have greater confidence levels, better decision making, and realistic expectations from the liposuction process. This increases their chances of achieving the best possible personal satisfaction from the final outcome.

    Before the Surgery

The following tasks should be completed by the patient prior to the date of liposuction plastic surgery in order to be sufficiently prepared for the procedure:

    • Arrange for the past medical records from the physician and specialists to be sent to the office of the liposuction surgeon.
    • Prepare a list of currently used prescription and non-prescription medications, including blood thinners, NSAIDs, herbal supplements and vitamins to show to the surgeon.
    • Get any x-rays or lab tests performed as per the surgeon’s advice.
    • Adjust the schedule of current prescription drugs in consultation with the physician, if required.
    • Stop smoking for a certain period of time prior to the surgery as per the surgeon’s instructions.
    • Complete any urgent tasks at the workplace or home well in advance to ensure a stress-free recovery phase.
    • Arrange for transportation to reach home safely after the liposuction surgery.
    • If necessary, arrange for aftercare for the first few days of the post-op period.

The best way to ensure a safe liposuction surgery and quicker recovery is to carefully follow the surgeon’s recovery instructions.

    A Day before the Surgery

A few basic tips should be followed just a day prior to the liposuction surgery. These will include:

    • Take adequate rest and sleep well on the night before the surgery.
    • Do not eat or drink anything for about eight hours before the surgery.
    • Refrain from consuming alcohol for at least 48 hours prior to the surgery.
    • Avoid wearing makeup, jewelry, body piercings, nail paint, or contact lenses on the day of the surgery.
    • Wear loose fitting and comfortable garments while going to the surgery center. If the liposuction will be performed in the upper area of the body, wear a top with buttons in the front.
    • Diabetic patients should have their vital parameters checked on the morning of the surgery.

It is natural to have some pre-surgery anxiety a day before the surgery. The surgeon may prescribe a calming medication to be taken on the night before the surgery. Liposuction

Liposuction Liposuction is a known, routine, and judicious body contouring plastic surgery procedure, which has remained popular for more than three decades in the US. The procedure has become less risky over the years due to innovative surgical techniques. Several approaches to perform liposuction are available today, but the general steps in the procedure largely remain unchanged in each case.
Dr. Burton Sundin and Dr. Reps Sundin are board certified plastic surgeons providing liposuction and various other surgical and non-surgical aesthetic procedures. Patients in Northern Virginia, Washington DC, Vienna, McLean, Loudoun, Ashburn, Tysons Corner, Reston, Arlington, Chevy Chase, Richmond, Fredricksburg, and surrounding locations have an opportunity to receive liposuction from the surgeons at MBody.

    Anesthesia

Most of the liposuction plastic surgery procedures will involve only local anesthesia, but if the procedure requires substantial fat removal from multiple areas or is performed together with other surgeries, general anesthesia may be needed. Sometimes the surgeon may use mild sedation along with local anesthesia, depending on the patient’s anxiety levels.
One of the more popular techniques to perform liposuction is tumescent liposuction, which only requires the use of local anesthesia. However, if the patient has an allergy to the local anesthetic lidocaine, they may have to choose another liposuction technique.

    Placement of Incisions

Once the patient has been placed under anesthesia, the surgeon will begin the procedure by making small incisions in discreet locations within the targeted area. The size of incisions may typically range between a quarter and a third of an inch. An experienced surgeon will keep the incisions well-hidden so that the subsequent scarring is not very unfavorable.
Accomplished plastic surgeons Dr. Burton Sundin and Dr. Reps Sundin receive patients from Northern Virginia, Washington DC, Vienna, McLean, Loudoun, Ashburn, Tysons Corner, Reston, Arlington, Chevy Chase, Richmond, Fredricksburg, and nearby areas for liposuction.

    Reducing Fat Tissue

The surgeon will introduce a thin cannula to eliminate or reduce the unwanted fat deposits through the incisions. As the vacuum tube penetrates the deeper fat tissue layers, the surgeon will gently manipulate it to dislodge the fat cells. These isolated cells will then be suctioned out through a pump or syringe attached to the other end of the cannula.
Sometimes the surgeon may add laser, RF or ultrasonic energy techniques at this stage of fat removal to make liposuction more precise and less aggressive. All through the fat removal stage, the patient will be administered replacement fluids through IV in order to make up for the loss of blood and fluid.

    Wound Closure

Following the completion of fat reduction, the surgeon will close the wounds with dissolvable or removable sutures. Drain tubes will be placed below the skin for a few days to collect excess fluid and reduce the risk of infection. Both drain tubes and sutures may be removed in about a week to 10 days.
If the incisions are very minor, the surgeon may decide to leave them open in order to minimize swelling and bruising. If the procedure involves additional surgeries, the procedure steps may have to be adjusted.

Liposuction Plastic Surgery Risks and Safety | Richmond | McLeanNew liposuction techniques have made the procedure safer and more poignant over the years, and it currently ranks as the second most popular plastic surgery in the US. Post-operative downtime and discomfort is reduced with the current techniques. However, some amount of risk will always be associated with liposuction, just like any other surgery.
It is important to choose a fully trained and experienced surgeon to minimize the risk with liposuction. On the other side, the patient should be fully committed to following the surgeon’s pre- and post-operative guidelines.
Board certified plastic surgeons Dr. Burton Sundin and Dr. Reps Sundin provide liposuction to patients in Northern Virginia, Washington DC, Vienna, McLean, Loudoun, Ashburn, Tysons Corner, Reston, Arlington, Chevy Chase, Richmond, Fredricksburg, and other surrounding locations.

    Potential Complications

As long as the patient chooses a surgeon with a proven track record and expertise in the area of plastic surgery, the chances of serious complications are minimal. However, it is still important for the patient to know about the potential complications in order to make a well-considered decision.

    • Infection risks during and after the surgery
    • Poor reaction to anesthesia
    • Formation of blood clots
    • Fluid accumulation below the skin
    • Excessive loss of blood or fluids during the surgery
    • Extended or permanently altered skin sensation in treated areas
    • Slow post-op healing
    • Unfavorable scarring
    • Skin pigmentation changes
    • Damage to healthy surrounding tissue or nerves
    • Damage to the internal organs

    Rare Complications

In extremely rare cases, severe or life threatening complications may occur due to liposuction surgery. These may include cardiac arrest, cardiac arrhythmia, internal blood clotting, excessive bleeding, seizures, permanent nerve damage, brain damage from anesthesia, or acute drug interactions.
An experienced cosmetic surgeon can avoid such extreme eventualities for good candidates for liposuction. Dedicated plastic surgeons Dr. Burton Sundin and Dr. Reps Sundin receive patients from Northern Virginia, Washington DC, Vienna, McLean, Loudoun, Ashburn, Tysons Corner, Reston, Arlington, Chevy Chase, Richmond, Fredricksburg, and other communities in this part of the country for liposuction.

    Risks of Excessive Fat Reduction

If excessive liposuction is performed in a single day, it will increase the risks. Fat removal should ideally be limited to less than 10 pounds of fat from a specific area for body contouring. The risk of complications will increase if larger amounts of fat are removed from one or more areas.
Sagging skin, lumps or dents in the treated areas may arise because of excessive liposuction. For patients who require more extensive fat reduction, the procedure should be performed in phases, with adequate gap between two phases.

    Risk Mitigation

The patient should be forthcoming about all the necessary information regarding their current health condition, old health records, currently used prescription and non-prescription drugs, history of tobacco and alcohol, and any other lifestyle habits.
This will ensure that the surgeon can correct determine the patient’s fitness level and prepare for any anticipated complications. The patient should have a stable body weight, which should be within 25 pounds of their ideal weight.
