Candidacy
Women wanting to increase their breast size by one, or possibly two cup sizes, may be good candidates for breast enhancement with grafting plastic surgery. The candidate should have excess fat tissue in donor sites in order to enable its transfer to the breasts.
Patients should, however, be aware that not every woman is a good candidate for fat transfer breast augmentation. If a woman wants a substantial increase in breast size, she should choose breast implants.
Autologous Fat Transfer
Success rate with fat transfer breast augmentation is high because it involves the use of the patient’s body’s own excess fat cells to be transferred to the breasts. The surgeon will apply a gentle liposuction technique to remove excess fat tissue from targeted donor sites, usually abdomen, buttocks or thighs.
The harvested fat is purified and then precisely implanted into the natural breast tissue to create fuller and more proportionate breasts. The procedure involves only small incisions that heal with very little to no scarring. How does it Work?
Fat grafting breast augmentation is a less invasive way to create fuller, curvier breasts that look and feel like the patient’s own natural breast tissue. The procedure is performed in two stages: In the first stage, the surgeon will carefully remove excess fat cells from the donor area, using the traditional liposuction technique.
The fat cells are purified and then injected precisely into the natural breast tissue to enhance volume and fullness. It is possible to create curves just at the right places where the patient wants them. This can help create breasts that are not just larger in size, but also more attractively shaped.
If the woman has small, tight breast tissue, an additional stage called breast tissue expansion may be included in the overall procedure. The surgeon may recommend the BRAVA system, which will enable the breast tissue to expand enough to create room for donor fat cells.
The BRAVA system can also improve blood supply to the breast area, reducing the risk of cell necrosis and improving the chances of grafted fat cell survival.
