First Week
In the first two to three days after your breast augmentation with lift plastic surgery, you are likely to experience some soreness and pain in the incision sites. Your surgeon will prescribe pain medications to keep you comfortable through this phase.
The bandages will be removed in a day or two, and your surgeon will recommend you to wear a special surgical bra for several days. Stay at home in the first week, but you may perform light activities and short walks at home after the first one or two days to improve blood flow to the incision areas.
Second Week
Although mild bruising and swelling is likely to persist in the second week, your discomfort levels will significantly reduce. Depending on your healing progress, you may return to your workplace or resume your regular activities during this week. But you should continue to avoid any strenuous exercises, bending or lifting heavy weights.
Third and Fourth Weeks
You may start feeling normal as the bruising and pain should get fully resolved in this phase. Minor swelling will remain, which will disappear gradually over the next several weeks or months. After two weeks, your incisions should be fully healed. However, it is best to avoid vigorous activities throughout this period and perform only light physical activities even at your workplace.
After Four Weeks
You can return to your regular fitness and exercise regimen, but only with the approval of your surgeon. They may still ask you to avoid activities that particularly put strain on the chest (such as tennis or golf) for some more time. By the sixth week, most of the swelling should have dissipated and you can see the results of your breast lift with implants surgery clearly. Your surgeon may clear you to wear an underwire bra at this time, and you may safely sleep on your abdomen or sides as needed.
Numbness and Scarring
In the first few weeks, the sensation in the incision areas and around the nipples may be altered or numbness may occur. This will usually resolve on its own, but in rare cases, the numbness may last long or become permanent.
Breast implants with lift surgery will cause some scarring. An experienced surgeon will try to minimize the incisions to perform the combined procedure, and will place incisions in discreet locations (like beneath the breast fold or around the areola lines). This will make the incisions less invisible, and in any case incision lines will gradually become lighter.
