Recovery Process
The patient should plan to take time off from work for about two weeks following mommy makeover plastic surgery. Mothers of young children may need to arrange for childcare during this period. On the day of the surgery, the patient will need someone to drive her back home. Mild swelling and discomfort will be experienced in the incision sites.
In most cases, the irritation and inflammation will be relieved by the end of the first week. The surgeon will provide pain medications to keep the patient comfortable in the first few days. To expedite healing, the patient can take several steps during recovery. The surgeon may instruct her to wear a bandage or compression garment over the treatment area for some time.
