Breast Augmentation Fat Transfer
Breast augmentation through fat transfer is an innovative plastic surgery for increasing breast size without the need for implants. Your surgeon’s goal during this procedure will be to extract the most viable and purest fat tissue from other areas of the body. This fat will be purified and then reinjected into the breasts for natural looking and sustainable outcomes.
There are three stages to the fat transfer breast augmentation procedure – fat removal, fat processing and fat reinjection. This technique is preferred by many patients over implants since the results are more natural looking. There is no risk of implant failure as well.
Modern Body Contouring & Laser Center, led by board certified plastic surgeons Dr. Burton M. Sundin and Dr. Reps B. Sundin, provides fat grafting breast augmentation to patients in Northern Virginia, Washington DC, Vienna, McLean, Loudoun, Ashburn, Tysons Corner, Reston, Arlington, Chevy Chase, Richmond, Fredericksburg, and surrounding locations.
Fat Extraction
Necessary amount of fat is extracted from donor sites using tumescent liposuction technique. The surgery can be performed through small incisions and local anesthesia. The surgeon will insert a thin cannula into the targeted area through the small incision. This will dislodge the fat tissue. A syringe or suction pump attached at the cannula’s other end will then be used for removing the fat.
Smallest fat cells will be extracted by the surgeon using the cannula. These are ideal for breast fat grafting. Buttocks, back, abdomen, and thighs are typical donor sites for fat extraction. Your overall body contour may also get improved as a secondary benefit to this procedure.
Fat Processing
Your surgeon will carefully process the fat collected through the procedure. It will be purified through decanting and centrifugation techniques. Only a very small part of the donor fat will prove to be effective for reinjecting in the breasts. Experienced cosmetic surgeons usually make use of 25% extracted fat cells.
Only the highest quality donor fat is used for reinjecting purposes into the breasts for creating homogeneous results. Liposuction plastic surgery may be performed in multiple donor sites for extracting a sufficient amount of qualified fat.
Fat Re-injection
Special cannulas with tiny injections are used for transferring pure fat in the targeted areas of the breasts. Small fat amounts will be reinjected in multiple areas of the breasts at different depths. This will work towards creating the highest permanent absorption rate. The correct injection technique needs to be adopted for producing even and natural looking results.
Increase in breast size will be directly proportionate to the amount of available donor fat for reinjecting purposes. Women who want very large breast size should consider breast implants. Fat transfer breast augmentation is generally effective for moderate enhancement of breast size.
Your surgeon’s goal will be to create proportionate and symmetrical breasts and not just increase the breast size with fat grafting breast augmentation cosmetic surgery.
Minimal Scarring
One of the best benefits of fat transfer through breast augmentation is that the scarring is minimal. Fat harvesting may be done by making multiple incisions of tiny lengths resulting in less conspicuous scars.
