A Combined Surgery is More Comprehensive
Breast augmentation surgery on its own can only increase your breast size. Therefore, when you are looking to enhance breast volume, but also want to make your breasts appear tighter and firmer, you may not have satisfactory results with breast implants alone.
On the other hand, mastopexy or breast lift plastic surgery will only help to tighten the breast tissue, excise the loose breast skin, and raise the nipples to a more youthful position. But this procedure will not improve your breast size.

Surgical Procedure
Breast implants with lift cosmetic surgery is more intricate, and should only be performed a highly skilled and board certified plastic surgeon. Your surgeon will probably suggest an accredited surgery center where this procedure can be safely performed.
The combined surgery usually requires general anesthesia. You will asleep throughout the procedure and will no recollection of the surgery when you wake up. The anesthesia will be administered by a qualified anesthesiologist.
Once the effect of anesthesia has begun, your surgeon will make incisions in your breasts at the marked locations according to the pre-determined surgery plan. If the incisions are created around the areola, your surgeon will make a second vertical incision from the lower half of the areola to the base of your breast.
Your surgeon will place the saline or silicone implants through the incisions, and position over or under the pectoral muscle as per the customized plan. Through the same incisions, the surgeon will then eliminate the excess breast skin and tighten the tissue to create a more youthful and elevated look of your breasts.
When breast implant with lift is performed, it is usually necessary to also elevate the nipples to a higher level in order to match with the new, raised look of the breasts. The complete surgery may take about one to three hours, depending on various factors.
