    Brazilian Butt Lift Recovery Time

Brazilian Butt Lift Recovery TimeAlthough Brazilian butt lift is a relatively less invasive plastic surgery procedure, it involves a considerable recovery period. The location of the treated area is such that the patient will be required to avoid sitting directly on the buttocks for a few days, and allow the new shape of the buttocks to firm up and the skin and tissue to heal.
MBody, led by board certified plastic surgeons, provides Brazilian butt lift to patients in Northern Virginia, Washington DC, Vienna, McLean, Loudoun, Ashburn, Tysons Corner, Reston, Arlington, Chevy Chase, Richmond, Fredricksburg and surrounding communities. The surgeon will discuss the recovery aspect in detail during the initial consultation.

    Estimated Downtime

Most patients should be prepared for a downtime of about one week after Brazilian butt lift plastic surgery. Within a week, the donor sites as well as the treated area around the buttocks would have healed enough to allow the patient to resume their normal routine or go back to work. But during the first week, they should have plenty of rest, stay sufficiently hydrated, and perform mild walks at home a few times a day to keep up the blood flow.
Patients who are not required to sit all day long at the workplace may return to work from the second week. In the second week, the patient should continue to avoid putting body weight directly on the buttocks to enable better healing. The patient should plan for the downtime in advance, apply for leave from work, and preferably have someone to assist at home during the first few days.

    Recovery Timeline

After the first two days, the patient can remove the compression garment for gentle washing of the buttocks. At the end of the first week, they should visit the surgeon’s office to monitor the healing progress and possibly remove the sutures and drain tubes. During the recovery phase, the patient should refrain from smoking or taking blood thinning medications such as aspirin.
From the second week, the patient can perform regular activities at home or work, but avoid sitting directly on the buttocks, if the healing is not adequate. In about three weeks’ time, the patient can resume activities such as squatting, stretching or more vigorous exercises. Around this time, the patient may stop wearing the compression garment and sit on the buttocks.
While driving during the second or third week, the patient should sit comfortably on a pillow on the car seat, and should have stopped taking any pain meds. Activities such as bathing in a tub and swimming can be resumed in about one month. In about two to six months following the Brazilian butt lift surgery, most of the inflammation and discoloration should be eliminated. At that point, the patient may be fully healed.
The patient may expose the buttock tissue to sunlight in about one year after the surgery. Experienced plastic surgeons at MBody receive patients from Northern Virginia, Washington DC, Vienna, McLean, Loudoun, Ashburn, Tysons Corner, Reston, Arlington, Chevy Chase, Richmond, Fredricksburg and nearby areas for Brazilian butt lift surgery.
