BURTON M. SUNDIN, M.D.
Born in Virginia Beach, VA, esteemed plastic surgeon Dr. Burton Sundin is a triple graduate of Duke University, where he received degrees in both Biology and Art History, graduated Magna Cum Laude, and was inducted into the elite Phi Beta Kappa honor society. Dr. Sundin continued his education at Duke University Medical Center, where he completed his Medical Degree (M.D.) in 1997 and his Residency in Plastic Surgery in 2003.
Dr. Sundin has undergone extensive training in all forms of plastic surgery, including two advanced fellowships. He completed a Hand Surgery Fellowship at the world-renowned Christine M. Kleinert Institute for Hand and Microsurgery, and a specialized Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Medicine. During his Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship, Dr. Sundin had the privilege of training with Dr. Luis Vasconez, widely recognized as one of the pioneers of modern plastic and cosmetic surgery. During this time, Dr. Sundin was honored with a faculty appointment as an Instructor at the UAB School of Medicine. He is experienced performing cutting edge cosmetic surgery techniques, and has completed board certification through the prestigious American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS).
REPS B. SUNDIN, M.D.
Dr. Reps Sundin is a respected plastic surgeon who has successfully completed and maintained the rigorous Board Certification standards of the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS). A native Virginian, Dr. Sundin’s impressive academic background includes an undergraduate degree in Biology from Georgetown University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society.
Dr. Sundin was honored with an academic scholarship to attend the University of Alabama’s School of Medicine, and after receiving his Medical Degree (M.D.), went on to complete his General Surgery Residency at the University of Kentucky, where he achieved the highest score in his class for the General Surgery In-service Examination. He was one of the elite few in the country selected for an Integrated Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center, where he honed his surgical skills and received comprehensive training in all aspects of cosmetic and reconstructive procedures.
Dr. Sundin completed an Aesthetic Surgery Fellowship at the prestigious Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital, in association with the Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery at New York University Medical Center. During this additional year of dedicated cosmetic surgery training, Dr. Sundin was mentored by world-renowned aesthetic surgery experts, such as: Dr. Sherrell Aston, Dr. Alan Matarasso, Dr. Jennifer Walden, Dr. Nicolas Tabbal, Dr. Gerald Pittman, and many others. During this time, Dr. Sundin had independent operating privileges and was the Medical Director of his own Cosmetic Enhancement Clinic.
Humanitarian efforts have always been a major part of Dr. Sundin’s life, and he continues to participate in a number of volunteer missions all over the world, delivering much-needed medical care to underserviced populations.
