Uplift Facelift – Invisible Scarring and Minimal Downtime
Plastic surgery of the neck and facial soft tissues (fat, skin, and muscle) can result in dramatic rejuvenation. These procedures are popularly known as necklifts or facelifts. A unique procedure called face “Uplift” has been introduced by M-Body. The technique results in invisible scarring and minimal downtime. It involves deep muscle suspension of the neck.
Modern Body Contouring and Laser Center, led by board certified plastic surgeons Dr. Burton M. Sundin and Dr. Reps B. Sundin, provides Uplift facelift to patients in Northern Virginia, Washington DC, Vienna, McLean, Loudoun, Ashburn, Tysons Corner, Reston, Arlington, Chevy Chase, Richmond, Fredericksburg, and surrounding communities.
“Uplift” Facelift Treatment Goals
“Uplift” technique is used for re-suspending the soft tissues in the face and neck. It involves removing excess skin and neck lifting. Particularly, features such as sagging cheek folds, jowls, depressed mouth corners, descent of cheek fat, and ‘fat’ or sagging neck can be surgically corrected.
Understanding the “Uplift” Procedure
Uplift cosmetic surgery is performed using well-masked incisions in front of the ear. The incisions extend all the way behind the hairline. In some cases, an additional incision may be performed beneath the chin. Your face and neck have several layers, which includes fat, skin, muscle, and fascia (a strong tissue layer that covers the facial muscles).
Deep plane suspension (SMAS facelift) is performed during an Uplift procedure. This involves re-contouring of fat layer, tightening of the skin and/or fascia, and tightening of the neck muscles. Newer concept of re-contouring, re-suspension, and preserving of precious skin and fat has supplanted previous techniques of cutting out excess skin.
SMAS re-suspension technique offers innovative and long-term results. It also provides more natural results. Skilled surgeons know that loss of fat and deflation is an important component of facial aging. They focus on placement of implants and fat grafting for restoration of facial volume.
Uplift Achieves Face and Neck Harmony
Balance is an important concept in Uplift. Your lower face and upper face or eyebrows don’t age independent of the neck. Best results are often obtained when total facial rejuvenation is performed. However, this doesn’t mean that you need to get all procedures performed at the same time. Surgeries can be performed separately as long as balance in the upper, lower, and neck region is considered a priority.
Neck lifts and face lifts are generally performed concurrently because they are interdependent. Uplift technique makes it possible to achieve results in a minimally invasive manner with little scarring.
Results and Recovery
Neck lift and facelift with the innovative Uplift technique ensures optimal patient comfort. Recovery involves potential bruising, mild swelling, and incision care. Your treatment provider will ask you to stop smoking 3 weeks before the surgery and continue to not smoke for 6 weeks or more following the surgery. You may suffer from skin necrosis if you don’t follow the instructions to stop smoking.
Proper pre- and post-operative treatment and care makes Uplift a wonderful solution for treating progressive signs of facial aging. It can dramatically improve the contours in the face and neck. Cosmetic surgeons at MBody receive patients from Northern Virginia, Washington DC, Vienna, McLean, Loudoun, Ashburn, Tysons Corner, Reston, Arlington, Chevy Chase, Richmond, Fredericksburg, and nearby areas for Uplift facelift procedure.
