Preparing for Fat Transfer Buttock Augmentation Surgery

Preparing for Fat Transfer Buttock Augmentation Surgery | Chevy ChasePre-operative preparation lays the foundation for a successful plastic surgery procedure. The patient should plan ahead and be committed to following the surgeon’s instructions as closely as possible.

    Guidelines for Preparation

In general, the candidate should work to ensure that they are as fit and healthy as possible before undergoing fat transfer buttock augmentation plastic surgery. Prior to the procedure, they should follow these tips:

    • Quit smoking for a certain period of time as specified by the surgeon. Heavy consumption of alcohol should also be avoided, and the patient should completely refrain from drinking in the last 48 hours preceding the surgery.
    • Blood thinning medications, NSAIDs, aspirin, herbal supplements and certain vitamins must not be used for at least two weeks before the surgery. These drugs can interfere with the healing process, and the surgeon will specifically advise against their use.
    • The schedule of any prescription medications may have to be adjusted in consultation with the prescribing doctor.
    • Stay sufficiently hydrated at all times.
    • Take a balanced diet, and increase the consumption of lean proteins, which can help during the recovery.
    • If weight gain is necessary to qualify for fat transfer butt augmentation, the patient should seek advice from a nutritionist to follow a healthy way to achieve that goal.
    • If the skin around the buttocks is saggy, the cleaning in the area should be very thorough to prevent infection.
    • The patient should arrange for a family member or friend or another responsible person to drive them back home after the butt augmentation surgery.
    • The patient should ideally arrange for aftercare for a few days until the initial soreness, bruising and swelling subsides.
    • Leave from the workplace should be applied in advance because the patient will require at least one week of rest at home after the surgery.
    • If the patient has little children, she may consider hiring a nanny or ask for help from a friend to look after them.
    • Adequate sleep and rest is important in the days preceding the surgery, and particularly on the night before the surgery.
    • The surgeon may prescribe iron supplements to boost the patient’s healing ability.
    • It is recommended for the patient to go over the post-op care instructions and any last-minute questions may be asked before the surgery.
    • The patient should arrange for compression garment, pain meds, antibiotics, gauze and any other post-operative requirements before the surgery.
    • No food or water should be consumed for at least eight hours prior to the surgery.

Your Fat Transfer Buttock Augmentation Surgery Consultation

Your Fat Transfer Buttock Augmentation Surgery Consultation | RichmondThe pre-operative consultation for fat transfer buttock augmentation plastic surgery is a critical part of the overall procedure. It will involve confirming the patient’s candidacy for this surgery, addressing the patient’s doubts and concerns, and developing a customized surgical plan.
Board certified plastic surgeons at MBody provide fat transfer buttock augmentation to patients in Northern Virginia, Washington DC, Vienna, McLean, Loudoun, Ashburn, Tysons Corner, Reston, Arlington, Chevy Chase, Richmond, Fredericksburg, and surrounding communities.

    Preparing for Consultation

Some advance preparation will help to ensure a more successful consultation. The patient should:

    • Arrange for their medical records, including information about chronic conditions, allergies, and weight fluctuations, to reach the surgeon’s office.
    • Discuss with the insurance company whether a part of the butt augmentation costs may be covered by them. If so, they may carry the relevant documentation to the consultation with the surgeon.
    • Prepare a list of all prescription and non-prescription drugs and supplements for a review by the surgeon and to make any adjustments in their schedule.
    • Compile a list of questions that the patient may like to ask from the surgeon during the initial consultation about fat transfer buttock augmentation plastic surgery.
    • Collect photos from magazines or websites to represent how the patient would like their posterior to appear after the surgery.

    During the Appointment

At the time of the appointment, the plastic surgeon will typically perform the following tasks:
Assess the Lower Body and Midsection
The surgeon will examine the overall figure of the patient, particularly the hips, buttocks and the abdomen. They will look for the appropriate sites where liposuction can be performed to extract surplus fat.
The overall body shape and proportion will be assessed to determine the right technique for fat transfer butt augmentation in order to create proportionate, natural looking results. The patient will also have the opportunity to point out their specific problem areas and discuss their personal cosmetic goals.

    Health Evaluation
The surgeon will review the medical records to determine any potential risks that may arise during or after the surgery. If the patient needs to gain a certain amount of weight or adjust lifestyle habits such as quitting smoking at least for a certain period, the surgeon will advise these goals along with a timeframe.
The surgeon may order a few medical tests, if necessary. Current medications may be adjusted in consultation with the patient’s primary care physician.

    Developing Expectations
The surgeon will present fat transfer buttock augmentation before and after photographs to help the patient to form realistic expectations. The current state of the buttocks will also be photographed with the patient’s consent for comparison with the new figure achieved after the surgery.
The patient should also feel free to ask questions related to the estimated costs of butt augmentation procedure as well as clarify concerns about payment methods and financing. MBody receives patients from Northern Virginia, Washington DC, Vienna, Arlington, Chevy Chase, Richmond, Fredericksburg, McLean, Loudoun, Ashburn, Tysons Corner, Reston, and other parts of this county and adjacent counties for fat transfer butt augmentation surgery.

Fat Transfer Buttock Augmentation Risks and Safety Information

Fat Transfer Buttock Augmentation Risks and Safety Information | McLeanThe popularity of fat transfer buttock augmentation plastic surgery stems from the fact that the procedure is less invasive and less risky because it utilizes the patient’s own body tissue. However, the patient should still be aware of the potential risks and complications in order to make an informed choice.
MBody, led by board certified plastic surgeons, provides fat transfer buttock augmentation to patients in Northern Virginia, Washington DC, Ashburn, Tysons Corner, Reston, Arlington, Chevy Chase, Richmond, Fredericksburg, Vienna, McLean, Loudoun, and other areas that are not named in this part of Virginia.

    Liposuction Risks

Once the fat has been extracted for transfer to the buttocks, the chance of complications is minimal because the fat is all natural. A skilled surgeon will be able to delicately recontour and lift the buttocks using fat transfer.
But the risk of complications mainly exists at the time of liposuction for fat extraction. If performed incorrectly, it could lead to fluid collection, skin discoloration, skin irregularities, scabbing, dryness, and fat reabsorption.
Fat Transfer Buttock Augmentation Risks and Safety Information | McLean

    Other Potential Risks

Just like any plastic surgery procedure, fat transfer buttock augmentation carries certain risks:

    Infection

The surgical facility and the surgical instruments must be properly sterilized to minimize the risk of infection during surgery. The injection sites should be protected against dirt for a few days after the procedure. If the patient experiences persistent pain, redness, fever, foul smell or green or yellow drainage, they should promptly get in touch with the surgeon.

    Unfavorable Scarring

In case of fat transfer buttock augmentation, the scarring is usually minimal. But if the injections are placed incorrectly or larger incisions are used for liposuction, it could create more conspicuous scarring. A skilled plastic surgeon will almost always be able to avoid this risk.

    Fat Reabsorption

During fat transfer butt augmentation, some of the injected fat may get reabsorbed, which could diminish the results. Reabsorption can be minimized when the patient avoids putting pressure on the buttocks for about two weeks, and wears compression garment full-time during this period. Placement of smaller injections into diverse sites of healthy tissue will also help to improve absorption.

    Seroma or Fluid Accumulation

Accumulation of blood and fluids underneath the incision areas can create more swelling and increase the risk of infection. Proper incision care and correct use of drain tubes will significantly reduce the risks of seroma. If this condition develops, the surgeon will suction out the accumulated serous fluid.

    Excessive Bleeding

Poor healing, improperly sutured wounds, or anticoagulant drugs may cause the wounds to bleed excessively. The patient should avoid vigorous activities in the first few weeks after buttock augmentation to minimize bleeding risks.

    Tissue Necrosis

In a few cases, tissue modification can inadvertently limit their blood and nutrition supply, resulting in tissue death. Skin imperfections, stiffness and discoloration may occur due to this cell destruction. The tissue affected by necrosis may have to be surgically removed.

    Prolonged Numbness

Some loss of sensation following fat transfer buttock augmentation is normal, and the sensitivity will gradually return on its own. However, if nerve damage has occurred during the surgery, it may lead to prolonged or permanent numbness in the affected area.
MBody receives patients from Washington DC, Vienna, McLean, Reston, Arlington, Chevy Chase, Richmond, Fredericksburg, Loudoun, Ashburn, Tysons Corner, and other parts of Northern Virginia that do not have official names for fat transfer buttock augmentation.

What happens during Fat Transfer Buttock Augmentation Surgery?

Fat Transfer Buttock Augmentation Surgery Procedure | RichmondFat transfer buttock augmentation is a relatively less invasive plastic surgery procedure as compared to implant surgery. The surgeon must adopt an appropriate technique to obtain the purest and most viable fat from donor sites for successful reinjection into the buttocks. This will ensure more sustainable results in the long run.
The procedure involves three key stages, including fat extraction, fat processing and fat reinjection. Board certified plastic surgeons at MBody provide fat transfer buttock augmentation to patients in Northern Virginia, Washington DC, Vienna, McLean, Loudoun, Ashburn, Tysons Corner, Reston, Arlington, Chevy Chase, , Fredericksburg, Richmond, and other areas in the region.

    Fat Extraction

The surgeon will usually choose tumescent liposuction technique to extract the required amount of fat from surplus areas. This is a less invasive plastic surgery technique involving only local anesthesia. The surgeon will remove fat from targeted areas using slender cannulas that are inserted into the deep fat layers through very tiny holes.
Thin cannulas will allows for the extraction of the smallest fat particles, which are ideal for fat grafting. Common locations for fat extraction include the back area just above the buttocks, the abdomen, and the thighs. An incidental benefit of liposuction at this stage could be that the overall figure becomes more even looking.
Fat Transfer Buttock Augmentation Surgery Procedure | Richmond

    Fat Processing

The fat suctioned out through liposuction will be carefully processed and purified using the process of decanting and centrifugation. Only a small portion of the donor fat removed will be suitable for reinjection in the buttocks. An experienced plastic surgeon will be able to utilize about 25 percent of the extracted fat cells for reinjection.
The goal is to use only the highest quality donor fat cells for reinjection into the buttocks for augmentation. To have an adequate amount of qualified fat, the surgeon may perform liposuction in multiple areas instead of just one area.

    Fat Reinjection

The pure fat is transferred to the targeted areas of the buttocks using tiny injections with special cannulas. Small amounts of fat may be injected into different areas of the buttocks at varying depths in order to achieve the highest permanent absorption rate. The surgeon must adopt the correct injection technique in order to create uniform and natural looking results.
The amount of fat injected into each buttock cheek will depend on the amount of pure fat available from donor sites as well as the amount required for buttock augmentation. Patients with general fat distribution may receive up to 1,000 cc of fat for each buttock cheek.

    Recovery and Results

The patient will go through a downtime of about one week after fat transfer buttock augmentation before they can return to their normal routine or go back to work. Results with significantly depend on the amount of pure fat available and the technique used by the surgeon. The goal should be to create shapely and proportionate buttocks, and not just augment their size.
MBody receives patients from Northern Virginia, Washington DC, Vienna, McLean, Loudoun, Ashburn, Tysons Corner, Reston, Arlington, Chevy Chase, Richmond, Fredericksburg, and nearby areas for fat transfer buttock augmentation and various other procedures.

Questions to Ask My Fat Transfer Brazilian Butt Lift Plastic Surgeon

Fat Transfer Brazilian Butt Lift Plastic Surgery Questions | RichmondThe demand for Brazilian butt lift plastic surgery has rapidly grown over the last few years. The procedure involves a less invasive fat transfer technique to achieve highly desirable cosmetic results. The patient should have a clear understanding of the procedure, the surgeon’s background, and all other surgery related aspects in order to make a well-considered decision.
Board certified plastic surgeons at MBody provide fat transfer Brazilian butt surgery and various other procedures to patients in Northern Virginia, Washington DC, Vienna, McLean, Loudoun, Ashburn, Tysons Corner, Reston, Richmond, Fredericksburg, Arlington, Chevy Chase, and other suburbs and neighborhoods across the landscape and within these adjacent counties.

    Questions

The patient should feel free to ask questions during the fat transfer Brazilian butt lift plastic surgery consultation, and make a decision only after they are convinced and feel comfortable in all respects.

Do you have a board certification, and from which board?

One of the key questions that a patient should ask the surgeon directly is whether they are board certified plastic surgery, and by whom? Surgeons who are certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery would have undergone a rigorous medical and surgical training, and would maintain high quality standards and safety protocols as stipulated by the board.

Have you performed fat transfer Brazilian butt lift before?

Sometimes a surgeon may have extensive experience in certain procedures, but not the one the patient is specifically seeking. Therefore, it is better to clarify whether the surgeon has actually performed a Brazilian butt lift in the past. They should be able to tell approximately how many Brazilian butt lifts they have performed, and what may be their rate of success in this procedure.
Fat Transfer Brazilian Butt Lift Plastic Surgery Questions | Richmond

What techniques would you use to perform the procedure?

It is better for a patient to know specifically which surgical technique would be used to perform a fat transfer Brazilian butt lift surgery in their case. The procedure typically involves three distinct procedures, which include liposuction, fat processing and fat reinjection. The surgeon should be able to explain how they can meet the patient’s cosmetic goals in a minimally invasive manner.

What would be your idea of optimal aesthetic results in my case?

A trained and prolific plastic surgeon will adopt a holistic approach, and aim to produce shapely and symmetrical posterior that complements the rest of the body features, and not just add volume to the buttocks. The surgeon should focus on the waist to hip ratio rather than solely focusing on how many cc’s of fat is injected into the buttocks. The goal should be to create an attractive looking body and not just a big butt.

How much would the procedure cost me?

Fat transfer Brazilian butt lift is an elective procedure, and the costs will usually not be covered under insurance. Therefore, the patient should frankly ask about the costs involved, and ensure that pre- and post-surgical expenses are included in the overall cost estimate. Some surgeons may also be able to offer assistance with regard to third party financing from professional medical care finance firms for this surgery.
MBody receives patients from Northern Virginia, Washington DC, Vienna, Tysons Corner, Reston, Arlington, Chevy Chase, Richmond, Fredericksburg, McLean, Loudoun, Ashburn, and other areas in the vicinity for fat transfer Brazilian butt lift surgery.

Fat Transfer Buttock Augmentation Before and After Photos

Fat Transfer Buttock Augmentation Before and After Photos | RichmondFat transfer buttock augmentation has emerged as one of the sought-after plastic surgery procedures in recent years. During the pre-op consultation process, the surgeon will explain the differences between fat transfer and implant buttock augmentation surgery. Many surgeons may also present before and after photographs during the consultation to explain the procedure more clearly.
The first concern of a responsible surgeon will be to educate the patient about the procedure and help them make an informed decision. Board certified plastic surgeons at MBody provide fat transfer buttock augmentation to patients in Northern Virginia, Washington DC, Tysons Corner, Reston, Arlington, Chevy Chase, Richmond, Fredericksburg, Vienna, McLean, Loudoun, Ashburn, and other areas that may not have known names.

What are Fat Transfer Buttock Augmentation Before and After Photographs?

Before and after photographs in case of fat transfer buttock augmentation refer to a pair or group of pictures pertaining to a previous patient who has undergone the same surgery with satisfactory results. The pictures include photographs taken prior to the surgery and after the surgery at a stage when the post-operative swelling has been resolved and full effects of the procedure are visible.
The surgeon will ensure that the pictures are obtained only with the prior consent of the patient and presented before new patients in a discreet manner. The patient’s identity may be kept confidential as required. The surgeon’s only purpose behind this exercise is to use these photos as a visual aid to educate new patients about the potential effectiveness of fat transfer buttock augmentation plastic surgery.

    Benefits

Fat transfer buttock augmentation is an innovative procedure that involves a minimally invasive approach and avoids the need for buttock implants. A new patient may have concerns about whether the fat transfer technique can deliver substantive outcomes and meet the patient’s personal aesthetic goals.
Some patients may only require improvement in the shape or symmetry of buttocks, while some others may need significant addition of volume in the posterior area to create rounder, fuller buttocks. In each case, the patient will be in a better position to make the right decisions when they have access to buttock augmentation before and after photos.

    Being Realistic

It is important for the patient to be realistic about the expected outcome of buttock augmentation with fat transfer. This will help them to appreciate the final results in a better way and feel more confident about their body and self-image.
Therefore, the plastic surgeon will use buttock augmentation before and after photos to ensure that the patient knows exactly what to expect and what not to expect from the surgery. MBody receives patients from Northern Virginia, Ashburn, Tysons Corner, Reston, Arlington, Chevy Chase, Richmond, Fredericksburg, Washington DC, Vienna, McLean, Loudoun, and for communities in between for fat transfer buttock augmentation surgery.

    Online Images

The surgeon has the option to provide free access to buttock augmentation before and after photos to new patients via their practice website. The pictures can be presented in a pleasing, discreet manner in a dedicated Photo Gallery section on the surgeon’s website.
What should be mentioned here and what the plastic surgery community is utilizing is digital technology. The patient or potential patient does not even know this or realized this but digital technology is again affecting their life and again for the better. Every industry in the world is using digital technology to their advantage and the breath of this technology has not reached its limit yet.
Speaking of buttock augmentation, now patients can make vital and informed decisions with acumen because of the clarity of these pictures.
These pictures show the patient exactly what to expect and they can make this critical decision from the comfort of their own home. They do not have to rely on some vague brochure or some picture book the clinic has and do not have to rely so much on the surgeon’s description and their staff’s spoken word. Hours of this can be taken care of in about 2 minutes of looking at some digital pictures that bring fat transfer buttock augmentation all to life.

    Fat Transfer Buttock Augmentation Recovery

Fat Transfer Buttock Augmentation Recovery | Richmond | McLeanFat transfer buttock augmentation is a relatively less invasive plastic surgery procedure, but it will still involve some period of recovery. At the time of pre-op consultation, the surgeon will explain all aspects of the procedure, including the expected recovery process.
Board certified plastic surgeons at MBody provide fat transfer buttock augmentation to patients in Northern Virginia, Washington DC, Vienna, McLean, Loudoun, Ashburn, Tysons Corner, Reston, Arlington, Chevy Chase, Richmond, Fredricksburg, and surrounding communities.

    Immediate Post-Surgical Phase

The recovery process will vary for each patient according to the amount of fat transferred, the skill of the operating surgeon, and the patient’s innate healing ability. Immediately after the fat transfer buttock augmentation plastic surgery, the patient will be shifted to a recovery area for a few hours. Once the surgeon is satisfied with the progress, they will send the patient home.
The patient should arrange for transportation to home with someone responsible, and should have someone to stay with them for the first 48 hours for assistance. The surgeon will provide detailed instructions for aftercare during the recovery phase, and may prescribe mild pain medications and antibiotics for a few days.
The patient will usually be required to wear a support garment in the buttock area to expedite healing. Experienced plastic surgeons at MBody receive patients from Northern Virginia, Washington DC, Vienna, McLean, Loudoun, Ashburn, Tysons Corner, Reston, Arlington, Chevy Chase, Richmond, Fredricksburg, and nearby areas for fat transfer buttock augmentation.

    Recovery Process

Unlike the recovery for butt implant surgery, the recovery in case of fat transfer buttock augmentation will be significantly smoother and speedier. The support garment should be worn all the time in the initial period in order to enable the skin in the rear area to re-drape properly and provide added support to reshaped buttocks.
Even though the fat transfer surgery will be minimally invasive, but it will still require the patient to avoid prolonged sitting position for about two weeks. This will allow maximum fat to be preserved in the recipient areas. The patient should try to sleep sideways or face down for the first few weeks, as far as possible.
The patient should refrain from smoking in the first few weeks of recovery in order to allow for complete, uninterrupted healing. Patients who diligently follow the surgeon’s recovery care instructions will typically have an easier and faster recovery.

    Additional Care

Pressure on the fat transfer site should be minimized in the first few days. Depending on the surgeon’s advice, the patient may choose to receive lymphatic massage from a qualified therapist to promote healing. The patient may resume their normal routine or go back to work in about one week to 10 days after the surgery.
Whenever the patient has any abnormal signs such as excessive pain in the treated area, pus, or fever, they should promptly get in touch with the surgeon. Fat transfer buttock augmentation is a rather simple procedure, and recovery will also be simple as long as the patient maintains basic care and follows the surgeon’s advice.

    Criteria for Candidacy

To qualify as an appropriate candidate for fat transfer buttock augmentation plastic surgery, an individual should ideally meet the following criteria:

    • They should not have excessive tissue or loose skin in the posterior area, and the skin should be fairly elastic. In case of loose buttock skin, they may be more appropriate candidates for traditional butt lift surgery.
    • They should have a cosmetic goal to achieve higher volume in the buttocks in the least invasive manner.
    • They should have spare fat tissue available in donor sites such as the abdomen, thighs or love handles. Excess fat from these areas can be removed for subsequent transfer to the buttocks. Candidates should know that three to four times of the required fat will need to be removed from donor areas in order to obtain purified fat for transfer.
    • Candidates who do not have spare fat deposits should be prepared to undergo a weight gain program prior to fat transfer buttock augmentation.

Experienced plastic surgeons at MBody receive patients from Northern Virginia, Washington DC, Vienna, McLean, Loudoun, Ashburn, Tysons Corner, Reston, Arlington, Chevy Chase, Richmond, Fredricksburg, and nearby areas for fat transfer buttock augmentation.

    • Body structure should be appropriate and body weight should be stable.
    • The overall health should be good, and fitness to undergo anesthesia and sustain liposuction from donor areas.
    • Cosmetic goals should be clear, and should have a positive mindset and realistic expectations.

The surgeon will also prefer the candidate to be a non-smoker or having a commitment to quit smoking for a certain period prior to the surgery.
